Japan tranny troubles???

I've just be browsing the Acura CL and Accord V6 forums and each of them have NUMEROUS members with auto tranny problems....wtf is it with these damn trannies from Japanese makes? On the one hand I want to change over to synthetic ATF and install a tranny cooler and on the other hand I don't want to make a crap tranny last just long enough to get out of the warranty period and leave me hanging with the costs!!! What's a guy to do with his autotragic!?!?!

maybe it's just Honda

Perhaps it's just Honda that has the problem, but then again, looking at Consumer Reports April 2002 issue, it looks like the Accord and CL have very good transmission reliability.

My family has owned a 91 Camry V6 (my car before the Maxima), a 96 Camry V6, and a now a 2K2 Max. For the Maxima, it's too new to tell, but we've never had any transmission probs w/our Camrys.
