MY knock sensor has only one wire running to it, but two places for a wires to connect (within the one clip; does that make sense?)...is there supposed to be two wires or just one?

Eventhough there are two connections running to the sensor itself, only 1 wire connects to it. In my car, it looked like a speaker-type wire when I replaced it. As far as the two-wire harness, the second wire is the ground connection.
