AM I the only one that gets warm inside when i see another maxima pass me

today, i'm driving up this street at around 8:30 (before Monday Night Raw) to get some white castle and i see this rice colored max, with fogs and orange bumpers make a left at the light ( i had the red so i was chilling)...as he's passing me, i flash my high beams real quick at him and he flashes them right back at me, like we had this connection...maxima connection i felt so good and warm knowing that other maxima owners out there noticed me and had to share this wit u guys, i say we start a new trend, whenever we see a maxima (4th generation) pass us on opposite side of street, we do a quick flash of light so we know who each other is...the contact me and this other person made was so awesome and if i wasn't stuck at the red light wit someone in front and behind me, i would have chased him down to say what's up, but wow, i felt all tingly inside

Am I the only one that feels this when I see a fellow maxima owner whipping the Datsun down the road?

Ummmm.....I would have to say that you are the ONLY one!!!

lol...j/k.

Nah, if I see a modded max, I trip out, but I don't think I'll be flashing my high beams on them. Around here, if you highbeam someone, sometimes that's an excuse for them to run you off the road...seriousely. Maybe flash them a peace sign like all the Harley Davidson guys do.

Only thing that sucks around here is that not too many maxs are modded. most are driven by old grandma types. in fact, two geriatrics on my street have 4th gens too. They probably see me outside playing with the intake and putting on clear corners and are thinking that i'm some young whipper snapper with nothing better to do.

But as soon as one of those old geezers dies...there's a cherry pampered max in the classifieds for sale!!!

usually when i see another maxima i cringe... is this someone i know? no? oh ok. whew.

ahha . just kidding.. or am i?

most maximas around here are driven by moms going to costco or something. never anyone my age group.

i get looked at my station wagons and minivans tho... paying the price for modded car i guess.

plus the sun shining off the CF hood and wing dont help much either.

My gf laughs too, but I go "maxima-phone" just like Homer. I've blown by other Maximas and usually the passenger is just staring at me like "whoa, Maximas can to that?" those are the kids... their mommy driving the car is just thinking "@sshole..."

Oh well.

going down highways i usually pull up beside them and pass them really slowly. Then once i've passed them, i continue on

Other than that. I might flip on my back multi light for a acouple minutes. Then continue on.

I never wave to other maxima drivers. Like someone here already said, its usually a mom getting groceries. I already know all of the modded ones around here too. Besides most people know my opinion of this car anyway so I'm not proud to be sportin it anyway.

awww dam, oldie's be rocking maxima's? I never see anyone above 30 rocking a maxima and I just saw a female sporting a gxe today but she was going to college, but dam, I would think the old fellaz and ladies would be rocking the 5th generation ones...what are they doing on our level of prices? cheap hags! Well, I guess i'll make an exception, only wave and high beam modded maxima's....

oh, and dam those white castle burgers hit the spot, i swear i can eat a hundred of 'em

In most states it's illegal to flash high beams at another vehicle. Either use your hazards or just turn your lights off/on.

Of course, I have the foglight rewire, so I just flash my fogs on and off at them. Then they look at me like "how'd you do that!"

I actually had this fairly hot chick in a Max a few months ago pull me over and talk to me after doing that. She wanted to know how to do the rewire. I gave her the website. I would have given her my number, but my woman would have killed me.

(And my woman is hotter anyway)

i think ive only seen two modded maximas around here, and when i saw them, i flipped my ****. one of them had huge rims, kit, 97-99 clears, and i later found out he had a s/c. i was on the beltway, and tried to race, but he wasnt down. the other time i saw another nice max with kit and exhaust, and man, it just feels so good to see other people with class. i only wish there was a way to stop them and talk to them right then and there...

exactly, u know...sometimes when i see these guys i wonder if they are people from here and if not, should i tell them about this spot? or do they know of a spot that they should be telling me about...

The only person i know wit a modded max is my friend that i knew since high school...he has a black 97 SE wit a supercharger just installed, blue nozzle lights, and well, i guess that's it...not too much put in but the paint still looks good and that black works wit everything so he has room for expansion...i've done much more on my car than him but he has spent more and unfortunately, he'll smoke me like a bag of weed...however, in a way, once the rims come back, mine will look a lot better

I know you're not saying anything with your ugly max. Nice bra and "rims." And to shut you up, i have a lot more done to my car than you have. And by the way, i love the tint too...

ok, i'm not exactly one to talk since i have done no mods to my car compared to your holy one (FSTB) and maybe your new exhaust light ....but you're not exactly a maxima god so why you callin out a newbie like that?...you were a newbie once, and from the good majority of your posts that i read...nevermind, i won't go there...but just cuz he has newbie status doesn't mean he has not been around maxes for years or anything

and exactly what have you done to "fully love it"?

hmm...it's not really a warm feeling I get...it's more of a, FINALLY! feeling. or just a feeling of comfort that someone else would choose a maxima over a camry or accord.

anyway, there's this guy at my college...he lives in the dorm area that I'm in. One day I he was already parking and standing next to his car, and I passed him and rolled down the window to say he had a nice maxima. he just gave me this dirty and arrogant look and i felt really bad afterwards. Oh well, i'm sure he's not a member anyway. 2 weeks later...I saw his right front fender was totally crushed in, along with his hood, and right front axle. His wheel was bent at a 30+ degree angle inwards. Sucker... nah, j/k.

I'd love a "warm feeling" for a change! I'm an older fart so the modded or younger aged Maximas folk don't show MomzMax no love at all! However, I get lots more thumbs up, waves and "shakas" when I'm in my own car...a WRX!

When I see another Maxima which is being taken care of (you can tell)I feel good. Unfortunately I see too many that are terribly neglected and (you can tell) they're almost like orphans. When I see another, sharp moded Max, not junked up I feel uplifted an I guess thats one of the reasons we have our Maxima Org. for owners who truly appreciate the car. Didn't mean to get philosophical.

Everytime I see a maxima pass by (other side) I ALWAYS honk, my girlfriend and brother don't understand it.....its the sensible thing to do. I think once, the dude on the other side honked.....and I was all yelling in my car "what, he honked back HAHAHAHA" nevertheless my girlfriend wasn't to pleased after that one

On another note....theres another 95/96 maroon maxima (like mine) thats got chrome rims, aftermarket exhaust and reddish tint in Poughkeepsie by me......and I honked cause I was right next to him.....but he never turned.....I didnt understand, we both had modded maximas but he never turned, never the less I got ****ed and saddened....so whats a person to do? since we were both in front at the red light I proceeded to KICK HIS 15" CHROME RIMS ***, all the way up route 9.....i felt better by the win, but I still remained sad to this day....we both had the same color.....

I have a maroon maxima too, and once i was in a store. when i got back to the car, the lock wouldn't open. another maroon max had parked right next to me and I had walked to the wrong car. It was pretty funny, but I quickly ducked into my car and sped off. even though it's pretty funny, I feel a little awkward when I see an identical car. Kinda wondering if other people around are thinking "what is this, some cheap sale on maximas?" or "was there a two for one sale on those?"
just my 2¢

There are way too many unmodded maxes around here. I see one every five minutes on the road. There is only one other modded one around here that I know of. I wish I could say I get that feeling. Ay max owners in NC email me.

Re: AM I the only one that gets warm inside when i see another maxima pass me

When I ride my motorcycle, I always wave to uncoming or passing-by riders. It's almost a protocol. Well, except for some Harley riders who pretend not to see you if you don't ride a Harley. I have not developed a habbit of doing that to other Maxima drivers. But last weekend when I drove my wife's Subaru to ski, a few other Subaru drivers waved at me or gave me the thumb up.
