Sexima Taillight Mod on my black max... **PICS**

I did the sexima tail light converision on my black max and boy does it look good! I got the tail lights for 70 used, and it cost 80 to paint them.

So here are the pics!

You didn't get the wedge bulb part circle painted? I know Sexima did, look better IMO. If only there's a way to paint the inside, I think it would look a whole lot better. Problem with painting the outside if you look at them at a certain angle, you could see the chrome. Still though, look much better than the regular chrome ones.

Do you mean how it looks wavy? Thats just the way altezzas are and how it shows up on camera. They are complete circles... its kind of hard to explain it, why the look like that in the pic.

Damn Nick...

That looks really nice! I like the reverse signals too, they add to the whole circular figure. Wish I had a black Max... no, not really .

a few things

I love the look, I started painting my altezzas a day ago and its nice to see what they're going to look like on a black maxima. I was thinking about the reverse lights too...I decided to paint over mine and take out the bulb because my friend said that the extra light looked weird with the red lights anyways, but I think you got a unique look goin there, looks good either way, just so long as the chrome's gone.

Another thing...is that how the trenz grilles come for 95-96 maximas? It looks like theres a black border around it, what's up with that? i like it, it'd be nice to fix mine up that way.

keep up the good work, it looks tight

gtr_max lights on the pic of white max

How hard is it to do the front headlight conversion on a 96 max to those of 2000-2002 lights?
gtr_max keeps posting a pic.

How did you mask off the circle part?

My body shop probably would want me to do that part. I was wondering if you masked it off yourself?

although I prefer the simple red/clear tail look more.. i still say that looks pretty good.

What i don't like most about altezzas is how the RED part, (or the circles) are this pale red color. The stock red in stock tails is much brighter and better looking.. altezzas are kind of dull and worn down

still nice though

You technically shouldn't pass inspection with those taillights anyway. They lack the reflective red piece that is on the side of all approved taillights. It's what makes even non-painted Altezza's illegal.
Look at cars that come with Altezza-style lights stock (i.e. IS300) They have reflective red pieces on the side of the taillights, whereas our Altezza's don't.
I looked this law up online, I forget the exact location, but its obviously true, just lok at any stock taillight.

Oh yeah, those taillights are badass. Get some red HotSpots LED clusters for the bulbs though to deepen the red color. Just my opinion.

Those're Skyline GT-R R34 lights I believe. Probably average work (400-800 + paint), however since they're only available overseas, the cost on them is usually around $2000.
