(?) for those who have rewired fog's....

I am considering rewiring my stock 2k2 fog's so that they will come on w/ the parking lights. They will turn off w/ high-beams, but stay on w/ low-beams and parking lights. I found a useful thread in 'search' so I I've got the instrux for the install.
My question is: For those who have done this, would you recommend it? Are there any dissadvantages, etc. of the rewire that I might not be thinking of?
Thanks in advance!

I did mine, and its worth it....i guess....

JUST BE REALLY CAREFUL.....I came SO close to screwing mine up.....I did not leave my self enough wire #1, and #2 when I clamped the wire tap....well it TOTALLY cut the wire into....thus leaving me about 1cm of wire to work with.

Be careful.

I appreciate everyone's recommendation on the rewire. I'm gonna do the rewire this weekend. The instrux thread that I found very helpful (also) was this: http://web2.airmail.net/scutchen/max_faq/

While your at it do the turn signal re-wire too. Just make sure your take your time, use GOOD connectors, and tape em' up real good. I did both when I first got my 2K and have driven for 2 years and 75,000 miles with no problems.

One question (serious one). What is the point?

People do this so they can have their fog lights on while their high-beams are on.

Another reason is to have the fog lights on when only your parking lights are on... it's mostly for looks but I guess you could say that it could be used to replicate DRLs on other cars.

As for the side marker blinker, that should have been done by Nissan in the first place! It's just a whole lot safer. Look at European cars that have blinking side lights - they all have them. BMWs and Volkswagons have them in the U.S. too.

I don't believe the fog lights stay on with the High Beams, just Low Beams. It is possible, but why would you want fog lights with High Beams.

You're right, I just did the fog light mod and the corner blinker mod today... the fogs go off when the highs come on.

Oh well, at least I can still have them on with just the parking lights. I think that looks pretty bad *** and it's a good alternative for DRLs in slightly bad weather.

To answer the question of why would I want the fogs and highs on at the same time: Why not? More light = More light... even if it is a small amount of light. You could argue that the fogs don't provide much additional light with just the LOWS on so why use them AT ALL?
