Im glad you know your cars. FIrst you post about a "Prassat" and now a "WSX" hmmm Anyway youll get murdered from a stop. They are AWD and turbocharged. If you have a chance at all it will be from about 60 up, but more than likely youll still get beat. Take Care

Ask for a 5 second head start

The WRX runs low 14s stock, if i'm not mistaken.. Compared to the mid-high 15s of the autotragic 4th gen.. Boost is a nice thing to have

dam...i kind of figured this...man, everyone at my job is gaining bragging rights on me...this sucks...now i'm thinking of trading my car or selling it for money for a 95 SE with 5 speed....i really want a 5 speed and everyone here is telling me that i should get a manual instead of making mine a manual....in the long run i'll have extra money to spare...i just jecked Kelly Blue Book and my 95 max GLE retails at 10,500 while the 95 SE retails at 8,900.....although no one will pay these prices for a 95, no matter how low my price goes down the SE will also and i should have atleast an extra thousand to spare which will go into a Variable Intake and y-pipe and CAI but still pondering if it's a good idea to get new manual or change mine

Ummmm.

Mecca - The WRX will walk all over you. It's one of the fastest sub 30k cars out there today. That doesn't mean your Max is slow, just that WRX'es are really quick. I personally think they are ugly, and would rather have my Max any day.

Second, the fastest known maxima is an Auto. (Don in TX)

It's all about lifestyle and choices. I live in Seattle. Lots of hills and even more traffic. I like my auto.

If I lived in, say, Phoenix, then I may like a stick more because it's flat.

True that sticks are a little faster, and generally more fun to drive when racing/tearing around town, but nothing some good Mods can't fix.

It is true, the Subaru WSX? (WRX) will destroy you. I have raced a couple in my 95SE 5 spd and I can't get them off the line or top end. Anyway, if you're looking for a 95SE 5 speed, let me know because mine is for sale.

give me the specs on your car and are u interested in a trade? well i mean trade with some money to me cause i think my car has better value than yours or do u know anyone that wants a GLE, well more importantly, I say:

AUTO is for handicapped not because it's boring and not because it's slower, but because its' for the weak! I mean if you prefer auto because it's easier for you in the area you live that's a different story but if you have NO IDEA how to drive stick, you are not a real driver...and it's worst to know and want to but can't due to the car u got....if i knew better from get go, i would have gotten stick but didn't know how to drive stick back then....IansW, do you know how to drive stick although auto is better for u because of where u live? I live in jersey which is nothing but stop and go but i still have room to tear the roads wit a clutch....NO EXCUSES DAG ON IT

I will be racing a heavily modded WRX very soon. My friend owns Vitek Performance, and Subaru gave them a WRX and Legacy Wagon to modify.

A friend of mine that works there has been talking trash, so we'll see who has the faster car. Their car is heavily modded, but it's an auto like mine is.

Vitek-Stock turbo, 18lbs boost, intercooler upgrade, downpipe, exhaust, upgraded ecu. And a 50 shot NOS kit.

Me-Supercharged, 9lbs boost, Y-Pipe, exhaust, and a 50 shot.

They're running twice as much boost, but the turbo is tiny, so I'm flowing about as much air to the engine as they are. The estimated power the tuner gave them was about 280 at the crank before the NOS, which is about where I'm at.

On the launch, they'll destroy me, but that car doesn't pull all that hard at high RPM. So hopefully I'll catch them once I get traction.

Ummm....yeah...I drive stick. My last car was a 92 Z28 Camaro - Stick.

This is actually only the second Auto I've ever owned. And I may be selling soon for a 2k2 6-speed. But I'm not upset that I have an Auto. I'm sure I'll miss my Auto as much as I enjoy my new stick, if and when I get one.

I definetely agree. My first car was auto. I couldn't stand it, and no one I knew drove a stick, so I got a part time job at an car auction just to teach myself how to drive stick because I was planning on getting my max.
