I30 - Warranty Question

I have a 98 I30 with 43,000 miles. I bought it with 27,000 miles. I have not done anything tune-up wise to it besides changing the oil. My questions are:

1. what, if anything, should I have done to my car (tune-up wise).
2. should I take it to the dealer.
3. since my warranty runs out in may, is there anything I should check to get fixed before it runs out.
4. what are major things that may go wrong soon.
5. will they fix that starter whine that happens for a ½ second after starting.
6. I got new springs for my car, can I leave my stock 43,000 mile shocks and struts (how long do average ones last).

Thanks a bunch for any feedback!

well your bumper-bumper warranty ends in may, but your power train will be standing for 70k miles. So unless your stereo doesn't work right or your antanae doesn't go up right. You might be able to get away with saying you can hear clicking noises when you go around turns to get some new CV Joints. But unless you are racing your car they should be fine till atleast 100k miles.
1. Service work isn't included in your warranty. Make sure that they replace your fuel filter.(pain in the *** to replace)
2. ALWAYS take your I30 to the dealer while its still under warranty, why would you take it somplace else when you get everything free, including a loader.
4. Sensors tend to go bad between 60-80k miles(not covered).
5. They will only fix your started if you are still under your bumper-bumper warranty.
6. I've been told that aftermarket springs will shorten the life of your stock shock/struts. But they should be ok for a while.

Change your air filter and clean your throttle body. www.motorvate.ca for how to info.

2. should I take it to the dealer.

Is there anything wrong with your car, except for the starter noise? Drop it off and let them fix the starter. Other then that, sounds like all's OK.

Do not leave your old shocks/struts in there with your new springs. Get a set of KYB AGX's or the Gr2's. They are the best shock out there for our cars right now. If you leave your OEM shocks/struts in there, you will experiance the "mini bounce" as I like to call it, because the dampening your OEM shocks/struts have is not enough to handle the added force the performance springs will put out.
