Addco RSB - Can you still jack up using the beam?

I just received my RSB (thanks Greg!) and looking at the install photos, it looks like the bar will be directly under the beam axle on my A32. I've read that the beam is a jack point, but looks like the bar will be in the way after install? How else can I jack up the rear?

TIA for inputs - I've been using search a LOT and this is a great forum. I've had my 96 SE 5 sp for two weeks and this board sure gets the mod bug going. The FSTB was quite an improvement.

I was also wondering about this. I have the Stillen RSB and it sits directly behind the rear axle.

Anyone?

Thanks,
-Nick

I have wondered why not as well...it still is centered for the pressure...only thing is to make certain the car is put on jack stands at the appropriate points...I just do one side at a time for mine...probably not negative efects of still using it I just don't want to risk it on mine.

I'm not aware of the rear beam being a jack point, I don't think it is.

I slip a 6" x 6" x 3/8" thick plate of aluminum between the Addco and the axle and place my floor jack directly on the Addco. Use metal because I doubt if a piece of plywood would be strong enough.
I don't remmember who came up with this solution but it's been around at least the last three years.

It is, it's a bit terrifying when the car starts to lift but the beam does work as a jacking point. I don't feel safe doing that though, I lift and put jackstands under it one side after the other.

I read a post a while ago by the one-and-only DBM and he states that it is fine to jack the car up with the rear axle or the front engine support. Of course this is to only jack one end up at a time and put it on jackstands though. I have an addco too and get the saddle of my jack to catch the edge of the axle closest to the rear of the car. IT has been fine for a year now but, I have been planning on doing something like MarkP suggests. Good luck.

I use a piece of 6x6x1/2" plywood. It works fine. One side benefit is that rather then lifting by the beam itself you lift it by the channel that runs along on top of the beam.

I lift mine from the tow hook. I used to do the plywood on the RSB, but it takes more work to align and everything.
