ATTN: Want a 5spd swap??? HURRY!

Look what I found!

Dude, this is so cheap, Infiniti I-30 5spd transmission with a Limited Slip! I know that there is someone on the forum that did a 5spd with LSD swap, and it went well. Man, wish I was man enough to try a manual swap!http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1818184405

Yes but will LSD allow you to drive under 18 wheelers on the highway?

Coilovers! hehe. I was actually considering bidding on it for the hell of it. Looks like it's in excellent condition.

That little internet wizz got there b4 I did.....

What a great price for such a tranny.

But, correct me if i'm wrong, that tranny with LSD on say my '95 Max with bolt-ons wouldn't be much better than a regular 5-speed. Like, it doesn't make you faster, it just makes it a little easier to launch. But not much of a difference at all.

Am I right?

Nope. LSD is very desirable. Why? Dunno.

In Vinipux's case he is very big into AutoX as well. So for him he doesnt really care about the 1/4 times as much as he does handling. Too bad his clutch was just replaced 2 weeks ago or so and not now that he has this tranny coming. Could have done it all just once.

I know why , but I thought on an older model i30 the LSD wouldn't make a noticaeble difference vs. a regular 5spd with a car w/basic bolt-ons. And I hold true to that

Hmm, They did not say anything about it on Ebay. How much do those run for?

I'm not sure. . . You might want to ask Matthel (Turbo95Max) as he put one in his car. I think the main problem is not the cost but finding them, I have been told the are hard to locate. I just know there have been others on the board that have also tried a swap and realized the axles (or just the passenger side axle) is/are different.

Threads to look at relating to this:

Okay I'll bite. Why on the older I30s w/ LSD would it not work as well?? You comparing them to the 3.5VQ HLSD trannys? It might be a moot point because I don't think anyone knows if these 6-sps even bolt into a 3.0VQ

What a coincedence, I just wrote about my experience with this 5 minutes ago in this forum, that's crazy. I bought my tranny from the same guy on ebay, it did have a minor leak, but after I changed the axle seals it seems to have gone away, I got my tranny from him for $126. He seems to have a couple of them.

Do they have to ship it to you in any certain way? I am curious because if I find a deal I wantt to jump on if I see a good one I wonder how it comes to me.

Once I was going to buy a rear axle assembly for my Expedition and the seller used a freight company to ship and he said it would have only cost about $100 to ship it. I was surprised.
