Replacing Adjustable Struts with Non-Adjustable Struts
Replacing Adjustable Struts with Non-Adjustable Struts
Got an 87 Maxima with 170k and very weak rear struts... hope to replace the adjustable struts with non-adjustable ones. Any advice? Will have help from my cousin who is a mechanic... besides the new struts, are any special parts needed to convert from adjustable to non-adjustable struts?

There is a parts conversion kit available from Nissan, however, it's not really necessary. It's a matter of preference and design.
The strut seats are different from the electronic vs. non electronic, so you would have to buy those. Also, the non-electronic has a bushing for each strut on the rear, so that would need to be purchased as well. I posted this a while back at our Yahoo! 2nd Gen Maxima Club. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/second...ma/message/989
