Why the h. are my little rubber 'spike feet' falling off my floormat? :o(

All of a sudden, my rubber feet are falling off the bottom of my floormat! For the last month or so, when I lift up my floormat, it's like turning over a rock in the forrest! A hole "colony" of rubber spike feet on the carpet. I vacuum them, same thing after a few more weeks. Why all of a sudden? Is this just something that happens after 6 years? Anything I can do to prevent it? It's only the driver side. No matter what I do, it never stays in place. Even if I hook it over that little floormat stick. Bummer.

You could actualy do what I did. Drill a hole on the pin that holds the drivers side mat. And then add a pin to hold it in place. Works great for me!

I am talking about the staples you use in a staple gun - why not??? - it wouldnt be noticable, and if you ever want to clean them, they would be fairly easy to take out......i dont see anything wrong

Why do you even bother posting? Most of your replies are garbage and usually have nothing to do with what the threadstarter is looking for. Some guy wants a pic of a wheel photoshop and you reply with your worthless $.02. like it means anything .

I'm bring back my old signature dedicated to you.

So, you mention that his replies have nothing to do with the topic yet neither do yours! Dumbass! If he annoys you that much then ignore him. And until you can contribute something worth while to this post, **** OFF!

Back to the topic, if anyone wants pics as to how to modify the pin to hold the floormats, I'm more than willing to post some. Let me know.

Happened to my old Accord. Factory mats were discontinued and I wanted to use my old ones since the embroidered "Accord" was still new:

Buy large modular velcro pads. $3-$4 package. Use only the "hook" portion of the velcro.
Scrape off the rubber spikes to make room for the velcro pads.
Sew the "hook" portion to the backside of the mats in the corner. Set floormats.
Done.

Better way: Buy a set of new/used mats. $25-$30 used.

why not just use velcro on both the floor and the floormat. that is a pretty easy solution.

The Assclown award is for you NOT KNOWING WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. Suggesting stapling mats is not OT; I'll give you that. But it is off-the-wall. If you suggest stapling mats why don't you suggest double-sided tape while youre at it?

Thanks guys for all the answers. I guess the velcro was the best idea. So I just scrape off a clear spot of rubber feet (not hard to do, I'm sure)? And then place the 'wire side' of the velcro on the mat? My only concern is that the 'wire' velcro might start ruining the carpet. Think this is a concern?
