Some Major changes to my Max (pics)

A while back I had an accident with my 97 max which caused my air bags to deploy. Because of the high price of the airbags, and NY law stating that used airbags can no longer be used in an insurance repair the insurance company, body shop and I decided it would be more benificail to me if they totalled out my car. They paid my a more than book value (little over 15g's because of the low mi. and good condition) and let me buy it back for for 17% of full value! So I thought to myself, now I have my crashed max and a check for 13 grand. I can either spend most of the money and have it back the way it was or spend most of it and make a few changes. So I went for the grand prize and here are some pics of the project underway.

Thanks! I had them take the emblem out of the front grille, no b/s moldings, and a c/f hood.

Wow, that is nice maximus!! That sure is unique. I like it. It helps break up our big, flat pug-faced trunks. What else are you doing? May I suggest shaving the antenna since you are repainting anyway? What is your bumper going to look like? So how much damage happened in the accident? No engine harm? Did you at least get yourself two new airbags? I hope so. Great job. Keep us updated.

You doing anything with the gas lid? Maybe something like the Audi TT? Not sure how it would look, but it would be different.

Yeah about a month ago. Some drunk guy cut into oncoming traffic and sent me into a Caddy!

who is doing the work on the car?
The body shop is in Roslyn L.I. There called Flower Hill Autobody. The've done work on my car before and they have a very good rep.

I didn't even think about that. I should do something. I'll prob wait a while cause I want to have the car back for the LI meet this weekend.

I'm sorry man! I didn't even read your post. I'm glad you like it. The rear bumer is getting filled where the plate was. Very minimal body damage. L/F fender, hood, headlight, fog light, front bumper cover. No engine damage. The body damage was actually minimal, just that the stupid airbags deployed! I got two new airbags. Thank god I know the parts manager at the Nissan dealer in my area but they were still big bucks. I wasn't too sure of the color but when I saw it on a VW I liked it a lot. I'll post more pics as soon as I get them.
Looks like the body shop forgot to shave the door handles too, or do you just love door handles?
J/K
I actually thought about that but I kinda like the door handles and I wanted to have some money left over from the insurance check.

Its a VW color. Color code LW5Y. I thinks its called electric blue or somthing like that. It's on 98-01 bugs. Not sure about the other models. The pics don't do it justice. I'm glad you guys like the car. I wasn't sure how everyone was gonna react to the truck lid.

we have other plans but maybe we'll make an appearance. I haven't seen anyone in a long time because of everything going on at home, I'm going through withdrawal.

My max hasn't moved since we pushed it out of my garage... and it hasn't run under it's own power in a month almost... I am suffering here... I miss boost.

POS CRX is killing me, I need torque

Vortech is the devils apprentice. I don't know if Stillen's ineptitude rubbed off on them or what... Talk about riding the short bus.
