Price On 96 Max

Right now I drive a 94 Accord auto and I am looking into getting a maxima. I found a 96 SE manual with 54k miles, no leather but it has a moonroof. It seems to be in good shape. Ive looked at kbb and nada for what to expect to pay. The sticker says $12,900 and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what I should be paying for it. I am located in wisconsin if that helps. Thanks...

Prices

Sounds like a little high, I always go under the Private Party value under KBB, also make sure it has ABS I thinks it is optional, Bsoe stereo is a nice option as well. I just paid $7700 for a '97 SE 5spd. with 90K miles. I am in ILLinois.Later, Paul

I found this one at a dealership(lexus). What should I offer them? No bose but it does have pioneer premier deck. I believe it has abs but no leather. $8k for a 97, sounds like a steal...

I paid $9k for a mint 96 SE with 85k miles, but it was about the only stick shift SE I found within 200 miles. Similar autos at dealers were $12-15k.

Pay as little as possible!!! I would expect to pay between 8000-13000. Main thing is it's a 5 speed. you will be thankful you got a 5 speed instead of considering a tranny swap years down the road. in any case, if you're happy with the car and the price you paid for it, it would be a good buy. don't let others say "you paid too much" or "I paid 5000 less than that". each car is different and there's more to a car than just price, and mileage. the quality of the car and whether or not the previous owner pampered their ride is hard to quantify.

I payed about $8000 for my 96 (w/100K) about a year ago. The guy told me it needed a new timing chain, so it was priced a little lower for that reason.

I paid 6200 95 GXE with bose and 10% tint 102000 miles. It wasen't in a very good shape cosmetically when i bought it.I bought it as the miles were decent and the tranny was ok and it was well within my budget.Look for a nice car and try to get the bose on it.you'll really enjoy it!
i'm in Kentucky
good luck,
Jay
