Look at these demographics of our competitors...

All of these demographics were taken from MSN Carpoint.com, so don't try to dispute them. They are all of the newest year available (all '02 I believe). I just thought these were some interesting Maxima-related facts. No flames please.

The drivers of the following cars are...

Acura CL: 65% men / 35% women
Acura RSX: 66% men / 34% women
Acura TL: 74% men / 26% women
BMW 3-Series: 62% men / 38% women
Honda Accord: 73% men / 27% women
Honda Civic: 42% men / 58% women
Lexus IS300: 60% men / 40% women
Nissan Altima: 69% men / 31% women
Nissan Maxima: 83% men / 17% women
Toyota Camry: 66% men / 34% women
Toyota Celica: 38% men / 62% women
Volkswagen Passat: 70% men / 30% women

I couldn't believe them myself.

I thought all VW's were considered girl cars. That's surprising that the passat was considered more of a guy car. Did any one check out the new W8 passat. 270 hp dual exhaust, sounds like the maxima might have a new competitor.

Funny. I see more women than men driving Maximas around the Bay Area. Then again ... (I hope I don't have to explain!)

i think a majority of the maximas driver out there are either a family man or someone in their 30's or 40's.
And yeah you would think the new altima being so pimpped from factory will attract more men then females, but in my city most of then are females. Weird weird weird.

OK, so you and I see lots of women driving Maximas. This means:
1) We live in areas that are outside the normal demographics;
2) We have an eye for the ladies (though I see mostly older women, not cute young chicks);
3) "Lies, damn lies, and statistics" (Mark Twain, I believe).

Ok, being from the Bay Area, I get your drift. Actually I see more men than women driving Maximas, although I am starting to see some more mildly modified Maximas around (tint, rims, not lowered, for example). Even on modded Maximas, one thing I hardly see is the RSB.

Maybe it's an East Bay thing. You know, Bezerkeley .... I've seen some nicely modded Maximas, but those are not the ones being driven by the wimmin.

i also forgot to add how weird it is that 78% of all maximas are wrecked by women. figure that one out. 78% of all our cars are wrecked by only 18% of the drivers.

I know it used to be that the primary market for the Maxima was middle aged men going through a mid-life crisis but still wanted to remain sensible. I would say if these stats are true then they did a good job of hitting thier target audience. Although I still see more women in Maximas but then that may be a Cali thing.

Correction: 78% of all all our cars are wrecked by only 17% of the drivers. See it here...
