How Bout Sprints?

People are talking bout H&R all the time? Are sprints any good? They sell em at custom maxima for 160. And where should I buy my Jimwolf intake from? By the way...I want to get springs that are the closest ride to the SE.And looks a little lower. Would Sprint do that?

H&R's are closest possible to SE ride, and a little lower. sprints are 2 inch drop, which is over .5 inches lower than H&R's

I had the Sprints. I didnt lke them much at all. Now I have Eibachs and I love 'em.

IMO the Sprints are too low for the Maxima, you give up too much wheel travel. You need to turn your adjustable struts up way too stiff to compensate. And if you dont have adjustable struts, I would just forget the Sprints...too low...

I say all this because I got performance springs for the performance, not the looks. Sprints look good, but at-the-limit handling was damn near dangerous.

I have no problems with my sprint set up. 120 on the freeway all the time and it handels like a bimmer.

I meant cornering-wise. You hit the bumpstops on the smallest bumps. This is very bad.

If you think it handles like a BMW, you obviously havent driven a BMW...

This morning I was late to work and took a shortcut with many potholes and bumps, no complaints here, they ride just fine. I am about looks and a little speed. Handling to me comes into play in a curves. I can care less about curves thats what strut braces and sway bars are for. You want your max to look nice drop it down still nice ride. You want a somewhat cush ride and a big fenderwell gap get the HRs or Eibachs as posted above. Save your money get some sprints and forget the HR's. Get some other mods with the money you have left over.

On the other hand, this is very true. My friend has a 1988 M3, meticulously maintained. A/C broke, power steering pump blew, engine in bad need of a rebuild, transmission needed new shift linkage (I think), whole suspension has to be replaced, and 2 holes in the exhaust system. True, I will give you he has 170k miles, but this car is taken care of like a gem - washed weekly, all appointments made on-time if not early, everything needed to be replaced was replaced. He loves the car though, would never sell it.

Who said I'm gonna keep it until 118K? I always sell my cars before they reach the 100K mark.

did you guys w/ sprints need a camber kit??
Ican't decide if I want sprints or progress any sugestions??
I posted a thread a couple days ago,

I've been debating on the type of springs I want. I just bought some AGXs on ebay for 350 shipped. Now I wonder if I should go with the Sprints ( which I like the drop but unsure of the ride) or Progress (familiar w/ the ride but don't like the drop as much) so what the h*ll should I do?? I read many postings on such as Sudz's thread which was very helpful but still can't make up my mind.
any suggestions???
Where can I find Sprints for a good deal?? I know custommaxima.com sell Progress for 160. Is there anywhere else I can buy either of these for lower??
Thanx in advance

Right now they are on a national backorder from sprint themselves, so you will have to find someone that caries them and does not just have sprint ship them to you. And they have to have them in stock. I ordered mine from importparts.com about 2 weeks ago and will not get them for another couple of weeks. Good luck.

They're STILL on backorder!?!?

I was told last July 16th that it would be "2 weeks"!!!
I Luckily I was able to find mine elsewhere.

I have a feeling that Sprint is telling all their suppliers they are on "backorder", and will soon simply tell everyone they've decided not to make them anymore....It's been 10 months!!!

Well when I talked to them on the phone I said that they had till two weeks before they got to my door or they had lost my buisness. and they seemed to think that I would have them by then. I am gonna give them a chance but I won't let them d!ck me around. There are plenty of other places that I can get springs. Thanks for the info though ian. Much appreciated.

I don't think it's the people you're ordering from saying "2 weeks" exactly. it seems to me every place that sells them is being told that by Sprint.

I was lucky to get mine on an EBay auction.

Everyone else I called said "Sprint says 2 weeks" for about 2 months. So finally, last September, I just bought them off of EBay and paid a little more for them.
