Alright, I just bought my Max on New Yrs. eve day with 60,000 miles on it. When I bought it it acted normally. A week after having it I converted over to Mobil1 5W-30. It is cold in Minnesota and I noticed sometimes when driving the car feels shaky when at stops and when braking and almost to a stop. I assumed it was the temperature and bcause the car had not been driven in a while I was going to let it "break in" so to say and see if it went away. After about a month it did. I just changed my oil today with 2qt 5W-30 and 2.25 qt. of 0W-30 Mobil1. The shake feeling is back. It isn't drastic, just subtle enough to **** me off and get me wondering if there is a problem with something in the car, or if I should be using a heavier weight of oil. I know this post is long, and ridiculous, but I am bothered by this trait in my vechile. Holler back if you know whats up!

 

 

I use the 5W-30 Mobil 1 Full Syn and its great for me. I dont have to deal with Minnesota temps but I do deal with freezing temps throughout the winter. My last oil change I tried the 10W-30 and I like the 5W better for some reason. 0W I dont want to deal with(thats real thinner right) hopefully Im not getting it bass ackwards.

I cannot relate to the shaking I would seek other possible causes.

 

The oil, no matter what kind, would have nothing to do with the shaking.... And why are you mixing viscosities? Just go with straight 5w30.... good to -40F.

I buy oil by the case and there is always 2 qts left in the case after my oil changes.It just happened that I had a few qts of 5-30 from a previous summer change and some 0-30 from my last change in the winter. I'm trying to clean up my supply shelve so mixing was in effect! Not a big deal.
