Does anyone know how much a place racing intake cost. And I have a 1996 I30 will a 1999 max Place racing CIA fit my 1996? I’m worried about the air temp sensor will there be a spot for it? And how does it look? Does it go down in the fender or is a long tube that goes all the way to the front?

place racing intake costs like 210 bucks, yes it will fit your 96 just fine - no need to worry bout sensors.........its a long tube that goes into the fender (you have to cut a hole).......warpspeedperformance.com has a cold air intake thats just as good for about 60 dollars less

 

That is incorrect. They make two kinds, a '95/'96 and a '97/'99. You will need a '95/'96.

Please don't share information unless you are 100% sure.

i think ive been feeling sluggish in the hot weather this week with my POP- does the hot weather affect it since im already sucking in non-cool air?

 

Hot weather shouldn't affect a POP- anymore than hot weather should affect a Maxima without any aftermarket intake, right? After all, the POP isn't taking in any more warm air than the engine would be before it was installed...

 

I just put my PR CAI in this week and I love it. It was the best money I spent on my car.. SO FAR Screw the hole its definitly worth it!!

 

dont know if the hot weather makes the ambient engine air even more hotter - maybe its a mental thing, hot weather makes me feel crappy.

 

So it for sure that a 1999max CAI wont fit my 1996?

 

Well, I know they make two different intakes. A '95/'96 and a '97/'99 like I said. I don't know what would possibly be the difference other than the air temperature sensor. But there is a difference in the sensors. We have a 2-bolt flange kind and the '97/'99 guys have the longer push-in style. In the SuperCharger kit, the actual tube only comes one way. The '95/'96 fit right on and then the '97/'99 people are to use an adaptor. It appears that Place Racing makes two different tubes rather than only one - with an adaptor. You can try and perhaps modify the '97/'99 to accept your '96 sensor. I can't make that call, you'll have to.
