What exactly does it look like? I thought all the Max's had the same power antenna. Is that what you're talking about?

Is there a way to get rid of the external antenna and get one of those wires that you can run on the inside of your back window? New Accords do this, and I really like that there are no external things to break.

Actually they have both the electric and one in the rear window and switch between them automatically depending on which gives the best signal. At least the 97's do and I would guess that all 4th Gen's are the same. I didn't like the antenna going up and down everytime I started the car so I put a switch on the signal going from the radio to the antenna and I leave it switched off until I can no longer get my favorite radio station then I switch it on and up goes the antenna. When the switch is on the antenna operates like normal, when its off it goes down.

Yeah, it's the same on all 4th gen Maxima's. The double antenna set-up works well, though - I've yet to get bad reception on any station I happen to be listening to. The switch idea sounds interesting, though, I might try it.

(not so much that the antenna bothers me, but it'll be nice to annoy people behind me by putting the antenna up and down without having to switch to my cd player )
