turbo is better(higher gains)..........but it requires alot more work to install one onto a maxima.........its a better idea to put a super charger on an automatic since it doesnt have to spool up off the exhaust

Actually, if you compare non-intercooled set up to non-intercooled set up, the turbo is actually easier to install since you don't mess with pullies. The intercooler makes it much more of a pain in the butt..... oh you have to relocate the battery for turbo, so it's about the same I guess.

List of advantages of turbo
1. Efficiency of a turbo is better than a S/C since you run off exhaust and not engine so more power to wheels
2. many types of turbo available for my set up all depends on $$$ you want to spend. I can upgrade my turbo to T-66 if I want to. Just need to pay for a turbo and change two flanges. Or T3/T4 for fast spool for street racing.
3. You can run different levels of boost easily without changing any pullies. Just a boost controller (or even a vacuum tee) can change the boost level. I can alter boost wthin 10 seconds with boost controller. I can switch between two predefined boost levels within 2 seconds.
4. 9 psi boost at 4200 rpm 4 psi boost at 3500 rpm. S/C doesn't make full boost until red line typically ... for centrifugal type that is (Vortech is centrifugal)

Disadvantages of turbo
1. Not proven yet for reliability
2. hmmmmm

One thing good about a turbo is that if you where to install a turbo on a stock car, stock internals ect then you can have the boost set at a low level. Then when you ad more modifications to the car that enable it to handle higher boost then you can simply turn the boost up on your boost controller. You can be somewhat limited in this aspect with a superchager. But I agree with 95emeraldgxe it would be better suited for a person with a automatic to use a superchager because do to the way it shifts and power bands. I just depends on the application.

supercharger

Please let me know were I can get (make model) a supercharger for my max (98 auto). I like superchargers better than turbo chargers for an every day driver (always on power vs turbo once spooled up high end power).

Once your car has spooled the turbo in first gear, you always have power, you just have to downshift and keep the wheels pointed straight!

Sounds like you don't really understand how the S/C works. The Vortech S/C is really a turbocharger with a pulley instead of a fan blade. like I said you don't get full boost until red line with S/C you get some boost at low end but not much. You also lose a lot of torque with a S/C, just look at my Dyno graphs.

I also remember one other disadvantage of a Turbo compared to a S/C. More people have S/C than turbo so if things go wrong, you have more people to ask.

I am not trying to convince you to buy a turbo, it looks like you have made up your mind, but these are the facts.

also, for now at least, turbo is for manuals only. (it seems, according to your kit, anyways)

That guy is right Turbo is the way to go!!!!!!but until these 2 or 3 guys tune their cars and run the times that they are suppose to be running for now the best bet would be a supercharger. Installing pullies is very very simple even the Idler pulley 3 mins tops, (easier then installing a fuel filter), but yes Turbo is awesome but god knows how much will it cost to purchase one, let alone to install one (should be easy, more space to work with) , and also I believe you have to relocate the battery in the trunk, and also if you get the intercooler thats a plus. I hope to god these guys Turbo97se and the other two guys get this going for everyone, we are all looking up to you for now and dont worry about the times little things like that are bound to happen.
