Upgrades and opinions!

Guys, I'm new to the Maxima world, but just bought a friend's fully loaded '97 SE, white w/ black leather. I just had a keyless entry setup installed and have a front strut bar on the way. Of course, a rear strut & sway bar are next. I have two main questions that I thought you might be able to help me with, both of which I'm sure are asked frequently on this forum.

First, I'm looking at springs and I've heard good and bad about both H&R and Eibach. Can someone give me some input on them. Has anyone actually run both or driven a car with both to give me a realistic and subjective analysis on them? I'd appreciate it.

Second, I'm looking to upgrade to some 17" wheels. Is there a site that shows different wheels on Maximas, aside from having to go through all the members on the .org site one at a time? Has anyone run a 17x8 on their Maxima? I appreciate it and look forward to being part of the group. Keep the shiny side up!

I know there are even better setups, but I'm just looking for the cost effective way to lower the car and still have a nice ride. This is my daily driver, since I just sold my '70 Datsun 510 w/ VG30 turbo putting out 325 HP / 375 ft lbs torque and only weighing 2440 lbs. Consistant 12.8 in the 1/4 mile (12.5 on a perfect run) and 0-60 in 4.8 secs.(4.5 secs, but traction limits both) Anyway, I'm just looking at springs, bars, wheels, and some tinting and I'll call it good. Thanks for the input.

look into H&R and B+G springs. Both give a reasonably comfortable ride, with increased handling capability. The B+G's are a little lower, but the H&R's are the closest you can come to stock ride quality.

Oh and btw, you mentioned above that you were gonna buy a rear strut and sway bar. Definetely get the sway bar, but don't bother with the rear strut bar, everybody on this forum says it doesn't make much of a difference in handling.

Another site that has different types of wheels on a max is www.maximadriver.com

Good luck with your modding
