Not the same old foglight rewire question...

yeah, I searched first.

NE1 who has done the foglight rewire as described by Andi B. (on Steve Cutchen's site) and Bryan B.
- Andi B. sez "The foglights will turn on with the foglight switch whenever the parking lights,
the lowbeams, or the highbeams are on. Only when the headlight switch is on the full "OFF"
position will the fogs be off independent of the foglight switch."

OK, not to be stupid here but...

that means if I do the mod correctly, the fogs can be on when just the parking lights are on
[right, good, what I want]...

But it sounds like the fogs will ALWAYS be on whenever ANY of the lights are on
[bad, not what I want].

Is this correct?
Or will I be still be able to turn the fog lights on and off with the stalk mounted foglight switch?

If the mod = fogs-always-on-with-any-lights,
does anybody have a different mod they can share?
I saw a post once about connecting to the wiper relay...

maybe then the fogs only come on when it rains?

Thanks

You can still control the fogs with the stalk switch. The rewire will allow the parking lights to provide the + power for the fog light relay and the - power comes from the stalk switch. So if either of these is in off posistion the fog light relay wont energize and the fogs wont light up. Hope this clears it up.

Yeah, you can do this. Instead of getting your + power from the parking lights circuit, get it from another keyed on + 12 volts. It doesn't have to be keyed on but that will keep you from possibly leaving the fogs on and draining the battery down.
