Hey Guys,

Today my Bose factory system went dead, completely. I have been having trouble with it for a while, the popping and the delay when I turned it on. But today it went dead completely. I don't think it was the speakers, they didn't blow or anything, the system just wouldn't turn on at all, no matter what I hit. It wouldn't even take a CD when I tried to use that. I know that almost all 3rd generation Maxima's go through this, (I've read the posts). I really don't want to spend the $200 to replace or fix it, if it's gonna die again! I was just wondering what you guys think I should replace the Bose with, any suggestions would be appreciated.

P.S. I've got a 1994 Maxima
Thanks,

basically whatever you want. you could go to wal mart and by some "road gear" or you could go to a stereo shop and get some good equipment. its whatever you want to spend. i recommend buying online at auction sites. i got some good deals on my stuff. try http://www.ubid.com http://www.onsale.com might also have some stuff but i havent checked for a while.

Same Problem

I went through the same problem 5 months ago in my '93 GXE...Bose head unit went totally dead after acting up for a couple of days. I chose to pay the $180 (including shipping) to have it fixed. I think the bose system is a very good (not excellent) system. Keep in mind, if you replace the head unit, you're going to have to replace all the speakers as well, as the bose are 1 ohm, and most aftermarket are 4 ohm. I'd fix it. Just my opinion?!?
