Need Help Quick and Bad

I own a 1986 Nissan Maxima SE 5 speed manual, it has 209,000 miles on it, and its slowly starting to act up, from 200,000 miles.

Ok here is the deal, I been having trouble the last few months with my maxima, and its getting progressively worse. It takes for ever to start now and you have to pump the gas, and runs really rough when you first start it so you have to rev the engine for about 15-30 seconds. That is the first part.

The second part is it will just stall on me, and then it takes forever to restart the maxima, I will sit there and try and try and try for like 5-10 minutes before it starts up again. And once it starts up it runs rough so I have to rev and stuff and drive around a little while to make it runs smoth again. This stalling thing happens when the car is warmed up. It is really ****ing me off now, because the other night it stalled 3 times in a hour. First leaving my friends house I got it started then it stalled, then once trying to leave the grocery store, and on the way back to the grocery store at a stop light.

I am desperately in need of a direction to start looking at. I am completely clueless on whats wrong right now.

Thanks for the help.

What I have done

The sparkplugs are fine, the wires seem to be fine, and the
distributor I dunno seems to be working. I mean it runs rough
sometimes when warm and you have to rev it and stuff to make it go
away. I checked the error codes, I have error 41, which is the fuel
temperature thing. I checked that it was a little corroded so I
cleaned that up, used my voltimeter tested the resistance came up
correct. So I dont know what to do next. And I am still getting that
stupid error message 41. Its 4 reds flashes then one green flash. So
I checked out the manual, I have the really big Nissan manual and
all, but I dont know what to do now. Thanks for the help.

Re: Mod it!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Guys, I been looking at the computer codes, and now I am getting really ****ed, I am getting Code 11, 13, and 41, now that is just not right. My car still has been acting up, and now its feels like loss of power. The other day my car was idling at 1200 rpm when it was warmed up, and I thought that was very bizzar. So does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to help fix my dang car. Thanks. Could it be the Timing or the Idle Control. When it starts up, it struggles idling, it fluxuates up and down, from car shaking at 500 to 600 rpm. It is quite wierd. You turn the air on, and the idle seems to be a little more steady. Thanks for the help.

Code 11 Crank Angle Sensor

Code 13 Cylinder head temperature circuit (I think I got this because the engine wasnt warmed up yet)

Code 41 Fuel Temperature Sensore Circuit is open or shorted

Re: Re: Mod it!!!!!!!!!!!

If you got those codes, then there is definitely something wrong with the sensors (except for the CHTS, if you're lucky). The only way it would output those codes is if something was wrong with the sensor itself, it just doesn't arbitrarily dish out codes if your timing or idle is off.

the problem with starting could be a starter problem
does it make a noise that sounds like a buzz...if so that would be a defective starter.. thats what happened to me.
the engine dying...??? maybe a bad fuel pump

hope this helps

Try checking those darn injector connectors, they get corroded.
