Carbon FIber Hood OR other Mods

Well... I am about to throw my name in the group deal on carbon fiber hoods ($500 or so) and am going to buy a budget y-pipe along with it... Should I forget about the hood and buy other upgrades (2k2 auto, with frankencar) or is the CF Hood a good investment

your not rollin' some civic. get the other mods.
although the carbon hood might cut down on the chips. hmmmmmm
if your car is grey it might look good ,but that would be the only color i can think of that would look good.
your choice, thats why we live in the land of the free!!!
peace

hmm, a budget Y-Pipe? Am I misssing something here? I am pretty sure "Budget" does not make a Y-Pipe for a 2002.

kjpierce, beleive it or not but some people actualy buy carbon fiber hoods for the great weight saving's not for looks. I for one will paint my CF hood before it over touches my car.

I know a CF hood saves weight on your car, but doesnt that defeat the purpose though. I mean a CF hood would be something you want to show off a little, personally I wouldnt paint my CF hood, Id want my car to stand out. Just my .02 cents.

I would only do it to save weight, I think the hoods look pretty nasty. They look ok on dark color cars but on a silver car like mine it would look like a junkyard part.

Why the hell would I put a carbon fiber good on a maxima to make it look better. And in my other post I stated that I would only buy the hood if it was easily swapped back and forth with stock hood. (for normal driving i put normal hood on).

I am not a ricer and I do not mod my car to make it "look" or "sound" hood, i mod for performance. I am also making my own carbon fiber fenders, etc.

Exhaust. I think the Greddy Evo system fits fine on a 2k2. emax95 has it

I dynoed the greddy exhaust and RT cat and gained a "peak" of 10 FWHP and 11 FWTQ in the power band. A guy I know from the FA forums dynoed just a RT cat and he said he got 0 gains so I think my gains all came from the greddy.

Not true. I have a 2K Sterling Mist. I think it would look nice.

Question. What happens in a frontal collision with a CF hood? As I recall they look great and I might go in on the GD for one for my 2k silver SE, but has anyone thought about what's going to happen if they get in an accident. Won't the hood come straight in to the drivers section?
