CD Player in bay under factory cassette. Possible? Recommendations?

Want to install a CD player under the factory cassette unit in a 97 maxima gxe. Is this possible? Any recommendations of brands, cost. Other recommendations? I want a cassette and cd player, but don't want to spend 250 on the combo unit. I don't want a changer in the trunk, so inconvenient.

you can get one of those pioneer or kenwood graphic analysers that have a singe CD player in them. They look nice. I don't know if it'll work with the stock tape though.

Buy the manufactuers that sell a din size add on unit for their head units. I believe Pioneer, Kenwood, and Sony sell them. I have a Kenwood cassette head unit, with a full din size add on CD/spectrum analyzer below it. They are two seperate units. If you want to stay stock on the Nissan radio, I remembering seeing a Sony din-size CD add on unit from Crutchfield a while back. Here, you just hook up to your factory radio, using a specialty adapter and running the signal off the tuner frequency. I hope this answers your questions any. Good Luck!
