Wetsanding

I got my car back after having the hood and fender repaired and painted and noticed some overspray over the entire side of my car. I took it to a detailer and they got all of it off with a clay bar (that is some awesome stuff!). They checked out my paint job and said that I had a ton of junk in my paint. I took it back to the shop and they are going to wetsand it tomorrow and reapply the clear coat. I mentioned this to someone I know and they said that this would shorten the life of my paint. This guy is not very reliable as a source of information so I was going to check with the .org and see if this is OK. Any info would be great.

If there's dust in the clearcoat and the wetsand/reapply 2 coats then you'll be fine.

If the dust is in the color layer, tho - they'll need to reapply color AND clear.

Longevuty should be a problem as long as the body was prepped rght - and it's too late to change that now!
