this summer i am building my maxima

i have a project this summer. since i cant afford a 4th gen. maxima at this point, i have decided to build my maxima. ive been checkin junkyards in my area for frames for the cheapest price possible. im thinkin about installing an infiniti i30 enginge, with maual transmission. if anyone can answer. i would like to know if its a better idea to get a maxima thats been stripped or should i get one thats been hit? im afraid that the air bags might be missing or deployed/ i heard that they are expensive to get fixed or installed. i hope to spend less that $4000 with everything intact(seats, bags, clutch, suspension, low mileage engine) Is that possible? Has anyone done it before? holla

less than 4000? doubtful for everything that your asking for. The low mileage engine will cost you a phat chunk of green alone.......I'm assuming you are doing all of the labor yourself as well

hahaha, i'm a friend of vens2g and believe me, he ain't doing nothing himself but changing the oil, lol and i c he used a big word, 'deploy'...he knows what i'm talking about

4,000 doesn't sound too convincing....first, u trying to get engine with low mileage along with trans with low mileage....that combination will run u about 1500 to 2,000 by itself ATLEAST, and labor is gonna hit u the worst...your best bet is to find maxima that got hit and just repair exterior...still gonna be over 4 g's after repairs but hey, beats getting one for 7,000+ according to kbb.com

buy the one here i'll hook you up with a body shop and see where it goes from there.. that would be without a doubt the cheapest route unless you can do the work yourself... even then buying parts is EXPENSIVE

The airbag "brain"/computer is the most expensive part of all. Good luck

I dont know how many miles
the body shop i was thinkin about was in LA its owned by an org member

shipping the car cross country would cost roughly 600-800 dollars maybe less proabblly not more

http://auto.recycler.com/ search for it... its in the LA area ummm search the 90210 area code
