Tranny Fluid drained and flushed, now better shifting?

I went for an oil change yesterday, and since I am approaching 60k miles, I had the guy drain and flush the tranny fluid which had never been done before. I find now that the car is shifting a little harder and more crisp so to speak, and I actually chirped my tires today getting on the parkway when it was shifting into 2nd?? I've never done this before with my auto.
Is it normal for the tranny to perform better after a drain and flush? I had heard that it would actually cause it to start slipping....hmmm

New fluid should improve shifting, as all of the good little chemicals are fresh
