How do you know if your lowering springs have gone bad?

I just got a set of used Eibachs, and that thing is ghetto....
30% - 40% of the springs had rust, and most of the protective paint chipped off while I was washing them, so I ended up painting them with a coat of rust paint. Good thing is the colors matched well.

As long as these eibachs hold up, I dont care about its appearance, but these already had 40-50k miles on them and if they become troublesome, i'm gonna get'em replaced under warranty, since Eibachs have lifetime warranty. I thought springs never break down, but my neighbor's Progress springs sagged and he got a brand new set under warranty.

These springs looked so nasty I'm really concerned about their structural integrity.. Are there any ways to tell/judge this?

This set of Eibach is already used, and the guy who sold it to me never installed them himself either, because they were on the car when he bought this car. I won't know if the springs are sagged, or if they're supposed to be like that because I never had Eibachs.

plz help !!

I wouldn't worry about a little surface rust
If it is badly pitted though...
I didn't think that springs could go bad.
Well maybe after a lot of miles and with a bunch of gold bars in the trunk but I doubt it.
How does the car feel/ride/handle?
If it's not great, I'd still suspect the shocks before the springs

eibachs are supposedly pretty stiff, so make sure you don't mistake stiffness for bad springs. That's a lot of miles, but the max isn't a heavy car, so I wouldn't think they would be bad.
