Question about taking out the antena..

Hi guys, my father has a 99 Maxima and his antena stuck and would not go down all the way.
He was trying to remove it but it wouldn't come out.

Does anybody know who to remove the antena?

Thank you.

Try lubricating it first. Extend it and put some very light grease on it.

There is an antenna mast-retaining nut that you must remove first. It is a bezel nut that you will need snap ring pliers or an antenna tool to remove it. You will need two people for this job. One person controlls the ignition switch and the other holds the antenna mast.

1. Turn the ignition key and the radio to the ON position (this will allow the antenna mast to unwind itself from the motor assembly).
2. Guide the antenna mast and toothed drive cable out of the motor assembly (slowly pull it straight up and out).

To install the new antenna:

1. Insert the antenna cable with the teeth facing the rear of the vehicle.
2. Next, have your assistant turn the ignition key and radio to the OFF position. This will allow the antenna mast to wind itself back into the motor assembly.
3. The remainder of the installation is the reverse of removal.
