RSX engine Waaayyyyy over rated

Hey i was wondering why i hear stories about stock maximas beating the Acura RSX Type-S cause it wouldnt really make much sense concidering how light it is and 10 more horsies then us...but has anyone looked in the newest Sport Compact Car? they did dyno tests on a bunch of them, and the 200 hp type-s engine is rated at only 172hp...i just wanted to know what people thought about this...

172 FWHP? That's different than 200 flywheel hp. You know the differences right?

maybe the 128 hp one was the regular RSX dyno'ed...

No... something wrong with the one they tested then. You'd never have that much of a drivetrain loss, esp with a Honda...

my roommate has an RSX-S with an injen short ram intake and a tien coilover suspension. Needless to say we have raced each other countless times.

I own him off the line but he is not that far behind (maybe a car lenght)

On the highway its a different story.. he can pull on my once we get to about 90 MPH and really pulls on me about 110mph.

We both dynoed our cars on the same day and he got a little over 180HP to the wheels (more than me) but had a lot less torque.

this should explain everything you need to know when you compare the maxima to the RSX

172 to the wheels is correct for a stock RSX. A 5 speed 4th gen puts about 162 to the wheels stock. Their stock intake system is incredibly retarded, a simple intake (like theblue's roommate's Injen) does wonders for that car.

Wow, if that's the case, the RSX-S is a pretty fast car. I heard it does 15.0 stock, with an even better driver maybe a 14.8? I think a RSX-S would kill an automagic Maxima.

Recent Super Street aka We Love Honda/Acura only magazine that HKS turbo'd a RSX with the K20 engine.

Okay, engine specs:

Hmm, just as I thought. Too much high comp. I'd rather stick with the SR20DET race spec if I'm gonna go 4 banger.

Read the magazine and look at the graph, they made a mistake....
yes it does say 128 hp.... but the graph says otherwise...
it was a TYPO on their part....
Sport Compact Car i think...

several people on clubrsx.com have run 14.6s w/ nothing but intake/exhaust... >:}
