so i finished installing my GReddy EVO catback on my 99 Maxima and gave it a test drive around the block. i noticed the first time that there was smoke coming out from around the catalytic converter/b-pipe area. then i started to notice a rubberlike burning smell. at first i thought it is because of the new material, but now, a few days later, i will occasionally notice that burning smell again. is something wrong with my car?

 

Did you tighten it enough. I dont know about the smoke thing but the smell I know about. Mine smelled also but after abput a week or 2 it goes away. It had a sweet smell but nothing youd wanna sniff to long. It should go away. Did you put everything in corredtly? Hope I could help.

 

the smoke disappeared after a day, but the smell still lurks around occasionally. i'll wait for a week to see if the smell persists.

I had a smell too when I installed my SP, but it seems to have gone away by now. Give it a week or 2.

Is there any sealent involved with the isntall? Maybe it was that?
