I took my Max out against a friend of mine last night to a windy road. My other friends have been saying how fast the VR6 is and how great it handles stock. So I took my modded Max out. My friend with the Jetta told me I could go first with a head start. hehe. Big mistake. We took off and after the first turn (I was going approx. 70MPH where the posted sign says take the turn at 25mph), I was at least 6 car lengths ahead. The car HUGGED the road. It was great. When we stopped off after the race, the only words my friend with the Jetta had for the Maxi were, "WOW, uh, WOW!!!" I'll take that as a compliment. A side note: I had 3 in my car and there were two in his. Later

 

Was the Jetta Modded at all?

 

No...I knew what the result would be and I never talk trash to the owner but all I've heard is "Aaron, his Jetta is SOOO fast. He'd be a good match for you." Then yesterday, they were like, "let's go out to... and race". So I had to represent Maxima. I know the matchup was unfair but they didn't think so until after we raced.

Plus, the VR6 owner says he's putting a supercharger kit on it and will be over 300HP at the wheels so I'd better get my kicks in on it while I can since I'm keeping my Max NA. I'm considering laughing gas though.

Don't feel real bad. It's not like they're civics. The VR6's are pretty nice stock. They outhandle the max with both in stock form and are quick off the line. But a modded max especially with suspension mods can take a VR6 with ease. Oh and my friends VR6 is a 1997 version the GLX. Sorry I didn't specify earlier.

I just sold my '95 Passat GLX VR6 5speed. I've driven alot of cars, and I can safely say that it was the funnest to drive bar none. Insane amounts of power at high rpms. (I've also owned a TSI awd talon)
So stop posting about vr6's you're making me regret selling it =[
