Tint help
I got my '99 SE tinted with 20% all the way around as soon as I got it - I actually did it to match our '98 Trooper that I had the fronts done at 20% to match the back. IMO, its not so dark that you can't see that there's somebody in there, but you can make lots of faces at your neighbors without them knowing! Cost me $139 here in Denver with lifetime warranty.
In case you're wondering, my wife used to have a bright red NX2000 that had much darker tint and we've never had any problems with any of the tint yet. Maybe the cops around here are more worried with road rage than window tint...

tint
I have a midnight blue (that might not be the official color)
95SE - I got the rear window and rear doors real dark while the fronts are not so dark - this way the cops can still see inside when they pull you over. If you have a light colored car and you get real dark tint, it stands out more, so they are more likely to notice that you have tint.....
So for Sterling mist, a silver tint (metallic??) might be the best choice.... For those who don't have tint yet, here's a few of my main reasons to get the tint:
*increased security (people can't see what's in there)
*preserves the interior - so my leather doesn't get so baked!
*reduces air conditioning-because the interior temp is already cooled down.
My tint was about $260 from Ziebart Tidycar.
I don't know why more SUV and minivan owners get their fronts tinted - it looks like *** to have the rear tinted but the fronts are still clear.....
Is it true that a metallic tint is bad for your radar detector?

Re: tint
i got my car tinted 20% just the back windows and the rear. we cant do the windshield or front two windows in NJ. it cost me 170, if i wanted the whole car done i think it was a little more than 200. as far as the speakers i dont think pioneer speakers are that good, get good ones if you spend money. later
Match it up!
I have 35% Ga legal tint all the way around it just looks better to get it all the same shade of darkness. I have Smoke Black tint on my Pebble Biege Metallic. It cost me $180.00 with lifetime warranty. I have for as speakers my Max did not come with the BOSE either, front doors Infinity Reference 6 1/2",and in the rear deck Kenwood 6 1/2" to see more click on the link in my sig and I am still using the factory deck I have 1 Pioneer 10",two amps an all check out my page in my sig.
Might be different prices but...
I've got fairly decent speakers & tint as well. The tint ran me $180 canadian, so that'll mean you can get it for $100-250 american depending on the place/tint used. Make sure it's metallic based and uh .. 35% on the front windows for legality reasons (I used 30% because I think the 35% is too light and nobodies the wiser)
.. As for speakers, that's a little more difficult. You'll need a seperate amplifier in order to power the internal speakers because the factory units run at a different ohm rating than most aftermarket sets.
Advice for cheapies? Get a new deck (I'd recommend Alpine, or Nakamichi if you're picky about your sound. Pioneer/Clarion/Kenwood for something cheaper) that has a built in amplifier. Then go buy some speakers for it. (again, MB Quart, Dynaudio, Focal for sound or Pioneer/Alpine/Kenwood for price) ..
After that, just hook up the deck to the speakers & away you go. However, this won't be earth shatteringly loud, because the best watts you'll get out of a deck are 10-20ish. (Most decks say 40-60, but that's peak power, they don't play nearly that much) .. If it's not loud enough plunk down some more cash for a 4 channel amplifier that'll do 50w x 4 (expensive ... that'll cost ya around $250-500)
