25 mpg combined hwy and city - time to drop it again

Thats right I got 25mpg on my last tank of gas. That was 200 miles highway and the rest all around town driving. I think that's pretty good mileage for a V6.

I just got back from Nissan, I ordered new upper strut perch mounts for both the front and rear and a few isolator sleves. H&R's are on there way to me. It's time to drop it again. I'm so sick of the 4X4 look. I have the AGX's, love the nice firm ride.

As some of you a-hum older org members may know I had MAJOR spring noise issues with the last set of H&R's I had. (Thats when I took my sig pic) I'm hoping that with all new isolators and upper strut mount perch seats (thats the big rubber piece the top of the springs set up against) My H&R/AGX suspension "SHOULD" be silent. You have no clue how much that F*@$$ing spring crunch noise ****ed me off.

Hopefully all goes well this time around, wish me luck!

Nice!

by the way I have the all 4 of the big plastic rubber pieces if you need them now - never opened in NJ(didn't need them because I got GCs).

Good luck.

Do the big plastic rubber things stop spring noise, or is it for something else? Thanks!!

You can't be sure they will stop it, but they do allow the spring to set up proberly with virgin rubber. Can't hurt.

Did you try the wire wrap on your previous H&R setup?
I'm assuming you did....my H&Rs are silent.

Don't forget about new OE strut bearings. I recently installed AGXs with H&Rs and used the bearings that came with the front strut and wish I had had bought OE bearings. Even with over 100k miles the originals felt smoother than the KYB bearings but I installed them anyway thinking they would break in. They are still making noise after driving with them for over 3,000 miles and I am not looking forward to taking the suspension apart again. And I replaced ALL of the other rubber parts in the suspension when I did the struts/springs.
