After 1 year my Tokicos work...

I am just tryting to establish from failure rates for aftermarket Tokicos on 5th gens. You always hear that they sometimes fail, but I have only read of one account of a member who had to have one replaced within a year.

So, lets hear it. To buy or not?

I say buy it because its the only economy strut out there that is a direct replacement. I'll let you know how mine feel when I get them installed on Saturday of next week. You should know that Tokico has been around for as long as I can remember that alone indicates that they cannot be making crappy products.

I've got 4 perfects and 1 failure w/ no explanation! Who was that mystery voter and what's the story?

And I know there are more than 5 members w/ Toks.

Bueller?

So, how did the warranty replacement work? You had to send them the croaker b/f you got a new one right? It was a rear one, right? Did you drive on one stock strut for awhile? That can't be safe.

I bought a new one out of pocket since I never sent the warranty card in.

Ouch! Still shouldn't void the warranty just b/c you're not on file. If you have the receipt that's prob good enough. But you prob don't wanna hear that.

Anyway, so I guess everyhting is running smooth now? No other complaints/probs?

I purchased the shocks from a third party. I am not sure they were even an authorized dealer because when I tried to get them to do the warranty stuff they told me to deal directly with Tokico. It was a member of the board. I didn't have time to jerk around with them so I just bought a new one and chalked it up as a lessen learned. The shocks have been fine thus far.
