Does anyone know for sure if using your rear defroster causes your tint to bubble? On all my cars, Ive never used the rear defroster because I had always been told it will make the tint bubble... True or not?

I have never had a problem...

but I think that mine is a factory tint. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I think if you have the tint professinally done they will warranty the tint against something like that....you can definately ask.

The place I have my tint done is a professional place that warranties their work unless you get "illegal" tint. Which I always do get darker than legal, so if it does bubble, im on my own.

It shouldn't. I doubt it gets any hotter than when the sun's on it in the summer.

If you use good tint, you won't have a problem. I had a 95SE and now have a 2KSE, had both tinted professionally and never had a problem.

Just use quality tint and have it installed correctly. It usually only bubbles with low quality stuff.

Shouldn't be a problem

When I got my car tinted the shop told me that I could not use the defroster for about a month.

Now, this was in June so I really didn't mind. But they said that after that it would be fine. I have been using the defroster regurally since it got cold here and I don't see any signes of problems.

My roommate also has had tint on his car since he got it and he's been through a winter with it and he doesn't have any problems.

Okay... What were your people smoking on... I was told to blast heat.. and USE the defroster because it will help it cure faster as well as remove air bubbles... Anyways, I had mine done (20%) and they did a good enough job so that there were no visible bubbles anyways. shiet, I used the defroster as soon as I stepped into the car...
Hmm.. maybe the different tints over the years.

Not smoking anything....that's just what the shop told me! I don't know if its right, but I figured, "hey, if it gets screwed up they have to replace it with their $". So, I did as told.
