Don't want to start a flame war but lsondubz claims that in his areas a new 2k2 maxima se loaded= 21k. I don't think you will get a new loaded SE for less than $27 before T&T. Remember a loaded SE has leather, meridian, bose, sunroof, nav.

A stripped SE can probably be had for $22.5 K is you get a $1K rebate. If not find out where lsondubz lives and get the car fom that area.

The MSRP is 27,890 or so for a 2k2 SE 6spd with Sunroof. I picked mine up for 25k, but I'm leasing, so I'm paying int. I got what I believe to be the best deal on a 5year lease, but if you outright buy it, you'll probably do better. My payments are $330 for 5yrs.

I payed $27,800 for mine and got everything (inc. floor mats, mud flaps, sunroof deflector - stupid stuff) except Nav. It is being shipped to me and left today. Can't wait for it to arrive!!

And what else?

My 6spd had an MSRP of $27,066. The ONLY options on the sticker were had floor mats, sunroof and wind deflector.

I paid $25k, gave up the rebate and took the 3.9% financing.

I paid $24,500 for 2k2 6speed, with HLSD, Bose, Leather, Meridian, floormats, suroof wind deflector...everything that can be had except the navigation. Of course my dealer just happened to have Maximas on sale that weekend, and have the EXACT one that I wanted on his lot, so I think I got kinda lucky.

Well, it all depends on what your plans are to do with the car and how well the car holds its value. The Max should be fine...if I ever want out, I should be able to break even. For now, it makes sense because I can afford the payment and I don't want to worry about my ride breaking in the next 3-5 years. Piece of mind for a little extra cash. Besides, the other 24k worth of money is being invested in bonds and stocks and hopefully making 10% gains...versus paying all at once on a new car which is VERY POOR investment. Never buy new in my book...buy used or lease. Cars in general are poor investments. Kinda a pain. There are no real winners...just people who get lucky and like what they're driving and those who get stuck driving something crappy.

Fully loaded except navi (leather, Bose, sunroof, wind deflector, floor mats, splash guards, Meridian, side bags, traction) black on black (some dealers will hassle you over color) lists for $30,700, I paid $26,877. Mine is auto but the 6spd is the same price.

Great deal!

I got a 6-speed w/ sunroof and floormats for $22,998. It was their loss leader. Got lucky. I really wanted the Bose and leather but the budget mistress thought differently. I still have the horsies to play with though.
