My car is doing this as well. However I'm giving them about 300 miles to break in and if they continue to do this then I will take it back to my mechanic. It' seems to have lightened up a little bit. The pads & rotors just have to seat into each other.
I thought that it wasn't wise to change both the pads and the rotors together...I was under the impression that you should have changed the rotors first, leaving your old pads on them (if they are good), and then put the new pads on breaking both in gently. But like someone first said...check that brake dust cover, mine did it for a while, after I changed my axles but it has since stopped. Good luck
There should be no scraping noise what-so-ever. Mine did the same thing. Only made the noise when I hit the brakes and it WAS the shield. Don't rule that out w/o looking at it first. Did you put anti-squeal on the back side of the brake pads, and did you install the bushings (or whatever they're called - retaining clips/springs)? Also, you described a whistle. Did you get cross drilled rotors? They will whistle sometimes. One last thing, watch your rotors. They should wear evenly. If you start developing ridges in them then something is wrong. Good luck.

Did you use Nissan pads or aftermarket. I never had a problem with the nissans.
