OEM Shock/struts made by Tokico?

I know it's been mentioned before but while perusing Pinnacle Nissan's parts catalog. The description had this to day:

"Rear Suspension, Suspension Components, Shock Absorber, Se, Tokico"
and
"Rear Suspension, Suspension Components, Shock Absorber, Se, Unisia"

The funny part is, even for GLE/GXE it still had "Tokico" mentioned.

I was wondering if I install my H&R's on my GLE, is it necessary to change the shocks as well?

Would it be wrong to assume that their OEM's are of lower quality than their retail products? If at best, could the stock struts be comparable to their regular Performance line?

Nevermind. I just saw this on Tokico's site:

"Although TOKICO does provide original shocks to a number of vehicle manufacturers, our aftermarket product has different valving as well as deifferent internal design features."

When I did my spring swap, I noticed Tokico written on the rears but could not find them on the fronts. I assume they are Tokicos though.

I don’t think it is a quality comparison, rather a function comparison. I think the aftermarket ones are calibrated more for a performance ride, where the OEM try to get the best ride quality and still maintain some level of performance. Not positive on this, but it is an educated guess.

I have been running on stock 2k2 struts with MaxSpeed's for about 1000miles with no problems. I will likely replace the struts with AGX (from KYB not Cattman) or Illumnia if/when they are avail to complete my suspension upgrades.

The stock Tokico rear struts on my '00 SE went out at 8K miles! Both sides leaking like heck! Nissan also uses KYB and JECS for strut/shocks.
