Disadvantages of buying a used PR CAI/w K&N FILTER?
Disadvantages of buying a used PR CAI/w K&N FILTER?
i'm trying to get a CAI but warspeed is having difficulties and the rest are a little expensive...would pay for PR brand new (between 200 to 250) but would rather get used for like 100 if there is nothing wrong with getting it used. Are there any dissadvantages towards getting CA and filter used? i heard u could easily rince off the K&N filter whenever it was dirty...someone drop some info on me with this...
someone on the forum is selling me there's for 100 shipped but i don't know his name here just his email address cause he just emailed me...before i even think of sending the dough, i gotta know where he is and all cause i heard too many jip stories u know?

as long as the filter is not damaged i.e... crushed and so on $100 is great deal. YOu can always replace it with a new KN filter for about $42, for a brand new one from hotrod.com. Go to pepboys or autozone they sell the recharger kit to clean them, just spray the cleaner let it sit for about 10 mins get a toothbrush clean it and then rinse it from inside out and then spray the pink lubricant and your done.

great, and what would you say the time period is between cleaning the filter? every 6 months perhaps?

Your an auto now, but I hear you may soon be 5 speed. I've had a CAI on my 5 speed, and I recently converted it to a CAI Hybrid. I think the hybrid is better suited to the 5 speed. CAI is better for auto.
Having said that, maybe you should consider building a hybrid. T do that, get a used Stillen or JWT POP, then get the CAI piece, or better yet, make your own. That'll be about $115 out of your pocket total. This Guy JamSan(<---I think) did that $15 mod.
If you do the CAI then goto hybrid, you wont have the venturi or velocity stack, so it will end up costing you more.
