Can anyone who has had this done tell me how good it actually is, Is it worth it to pay amlost $700 or whatever it is for the reprogrammed chip. Also what exactly does it do to the car to get that extra 10% ??

It is very good!!

When they reprogram the chip they add more fuel to the engine.

UPRD ECU!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if you want to spend that much $$$, then go ahead, but we are going with the UPRD ECU group deal. check it out http://www.maximadriver.com. Same performance gain, less money..........sounds good to me.

I believe they change the timing and lean out the fuel
mixture. The UPRD does this as well. I do not think
that Stillen did anything else (pollution, air flow,
etc) but I cannot say for sure. I am just wondering
why the DEALER cannot do this for you at tune up time!
I'd gladly tell him exactly what I want done...

I guess I'll wait for the 99 ECU upgrade or add
a S/C!!

Correct me if I am wrong >>>>>>

but I thought that JIM WOLF TECHNOLOGY has the permission to actually change the actual code for the NISSAN ECU's, all other companies that do the ECU tuning actually work around the codes. Now I am not trying to bad mouth any of the other companies and I am sure that they do make a great product too.

i'd go with the uprd, instead of the jwt...they offer around the same gains..plus the uprd is way cheaper..

Hmm, So wouldn't that mean it would be easier for JWT to have ECU's for all years? They don't, so I am not sure if that is true. Anyone know for sure??? I do know that the JWT ECU's and UPRD ECU's show similar gains,(UPRD might even be slightly better + its cheaper) So personaly I don't care how they do it just as long as it works and it is cost efficient.

JWT is usually pretty conservative >>>>

with the modifications that they make, just like the ECU upgrade that they do for the 1990-1995 300ZTT it is rated to give an addtional 60 crank HP with the boost jets, now other companies in Japan have gotten more HP than that with their ECU and mods, but in the long run I would trust JWT. What is the use of having a car make 100 addtional HP if it is only going to last about a year versus a car that will only make 60 hp more but will last another 100K miles.

You can get it cheaper through cattman->

Is it worth it? hell yeah in my IMHO. I don't own one but I've driven a maxima with it and believe me it kick A$$.
If the Uprd is better then its a must have
for all hardcore maxima owners.
