factory lock/unlock

I was wondering wheter or not the 1997 Maxima GLE came standard with remote lock/unlock. I bought my car from an insurance auction and all i got was a key. my max has the blinking security light and has every power available (even a garage door opener on the visor) so i'd expect it to have remote lock/Unlock. I wanted to buy a nissan maxima remote on ebay but i wanted to make sure it would work first...or if any of you guys have one for sale??

Just get one from ebay or something and reprogram it...

How to reprogram key fob:

lock doors manually, stick key in and out of the ignition 6 times and the lights flash twice...put the key back in the ignition and turn to acc...then press the lock button, and your set...

The Nissan Salesmen was freaked out when I did it for my brothers 240 when he got it. I did it right in front of him...

i don't remember exactly where, but in the trunk, there is a receiver for the keyless function, maybe someone can point you to where the receiver would be and you can check to see if you have it, but i'm pretty sure yours would come with it

Check by the antenna, just pull out the lining from the trunk on the antenna side or even just open the part where your jack should be an you can see the remote module. GLE have this so no worries, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Read my 96 brochure that GLE comes with standard remote keyless entry and vihecle security system, it's an option on GXE and SE. I don't think 97 year will delete that standard on GLE.

Standard

the remote entry system is standard on gle and optional on SE and GXE...mine has a module in the trunk under the carpet on the right hand side in the same area that the antenna is on the outside...
