Question On Y-Pipes Please Answer

I have a 1996 Nissan Maxima Se 5 speed. And Im looking to purchase a Y-pipe. But I see they sell different ones. What is this Cali spec and Fed Spec??? I live in cali so does that mean I need to get a Cali Spec?? also what make is the best one and were can I get it for the best price??? holla back if you know the answers to this.

you have to make sure if your car is the cali version first (check with the vin number)- if it is... then cali spec is what you need, if not get the fed spec(which is good for 49 of the states except cali) www.warpspeedperformance.com has a aluminized steel y pipe for 225 bucks - its a good deal.

Dont pay attention to him- 95emeraldgxe doesn't even own a Y-pipe

Only 1999 Maximas have 2 different types of aftermarket Y-pipes. The 99 Cali spec Maxima uses aftermarket y-pipes that leave the forward precat intact (the forward pre-cat is a seperate unit).

You have a 96- there is no difference between Fed/Cali spec.
