almost a year ago i was also looking for a carbon fiber kit for my 97 max but all the kits i seen where nasty. so i went to a friend and got a custom hand made kit for my car. it took him 3 weeks to make it. it was made of real carbon fiber that was used in making racing cars.

the kit that i have looks much better than a carbon fiber hood. i would shop around and ask for samples from each place and then pick the kit that you think is best. don't forget it's something your going to look at all the time when your in the car. good luck with your search.

I recently picked up a carbon fibre kit from Joshua Tree's bargin bin. The material is very nice looking since its blends in nicely with my grey interior but there are a couple (IMO) design flaws.

1. They could have done a 1 piece for the clock area (4th gen) instead of 2 piece for a smoother look. When the sun is hot you can leave the piece on the car to heat up so that its more flexible and can fit the bends so I don't see why they couldn't have cut a single piece.

2. The cubby hole door beneath the stock radio has a dinky token piece of carbon fibre. Since they've provided a piece for the ashtray they could have done a proper one for the cubby door.

It's best to shop around and also get different opinions from other org members.

I have seen several "Kits", and the Joshua Tree's kit is the only real carbon fiber I have seen, the rest are usually synthetic. I would call each company and ask for a sample, they will send you one free of charge, then make your decision.

I had the JT carbon fiber kit in my 97 max. Nothing wrong with it at all...but I kinda grew out of it. However, if you like the look, the JT kit is a nice one.

I've heard that the ones on ebay are junk??? Especially the ones from Alka Plus? Anyone have experience with their dash kit? It's cheap, for about $120. But you get what you pay for.
