Auto Racing Store never heard of Place Racing Intake?

I went into this auto racing store called Auto Image today. Its located in Central NJ. I asked how much it would be to get a PR CAI installed and they said they never heard of the company Place Racing. Is PR more a west coast thing? I dunno, they reccomended either an AEM for around 200 or they said they could do a custom intake with ractiv piping for 175. So I think I'm gonna go with the custom one. One more thing though, they said they were going to have to relocate the battery if they did the CAI. Is this necessary? If somone could shed some light on this i'd appreciat it.

go to www.maximadriver.com to see installation instruction on the PR CAI. I don't think you need to relocate the battery. I think the filter goes underneath the battery.

You need to take out the battery to do the install, but once it's installed, the battery goes right back where is was to begin with. No permanent relocation is necessary. Place Racing is located in Azuza, CA so maybe that's why he was unfamiliar with it. I thought all AEM made were bypass valves, but maybe the guy in the store that you talked to was referring to another company named AEM.

It's mostly a detail shop...actually its mostly alarms...the place is called "Auto Image and Security"...here's an ad:

http://couponaddiction.com/Ads/Auto/.../Auto%20Image/

And a quote "Auto Alarms • Window Tinting • Car Detailing • Sales • Service • Installation" No mention of performance. They sell NOS but can't refill it...lol...

I would do a lot of searching before asking some of these questions....use the search button on top.
