Spring Install Cost?

I'm getting my H&Rs next(Thanks to Alex at Southwestautoworks) week and was wondering what it cost those of you who didn't DIY to have them installed?

I dont know if my numbers are high or low (they sound high to me) but i had a tire shop quote me 225$ for labor to install my new springs/struts (H&R / Tokico), , , but I didnt have them do it. my mechanic did it for 100$ , which it took him less then an hour (and he didnt use a spring compressor!!! he's a strong dude haha) ..

all in all, i wish I had done it myself, very easy - but i would rent a spring compressor or something

$225 for labor is crazy. Im glad you took it elsewhere.

I did my install myself...but I would guestimate the labor to be around anywhere from $70-120. Anything over $120 is way too much if you ask me.

I live in the Bay Area, CA... my friend bought eibach springs and a camberkit for his new RSX. We went around to many tireshops and other garages and the price ranged from $180-$260. The thing is, it's not only for the spring installation but for wheel alignment as well.

btw; How hard is it to install springs by yourself??

Not difficult, as long as you have all the right tools & use a good shop manual, following directions carefully. If it's your 1st time, it wouldn't hurt if you had a friend who's mechanically inclined to assist you.

I paid $130. That is low for my area as most other places wanted $250.

$175 here in New Orleans thats why I made a pledge to work on my car and investing in a good set of 144 piece craftsman tool set priceless.
invest in a breaker bar to get those pesky 17MM bolts off.

I paid $175 for my springs to be installed at Speedworld.com on Long Island. I priced around and that was the lowest, most were up around $250.
After buying the Haynes manual, I am kicking myself in the a$$ for not doing the install myself because with a spring compressor and set of tools, it can easily be done.
You should defintiely try and get it done yourself. Find a friend to help if you think you'll need it.
