hey everyone. every once-in-a-while when ever my bro tries to start his car (even after being driven for a while) it wont start at all. (no effort as if there is no battery) so the only way we start the car is by putting in Neutral. Its very strange, anyone ever experience this? any input would be great. thanx.

 

The Neutral/Park safty switch is bad.

 

I experienced a similar problem, the car wouldn't do anything but a relay switch sound. In my case the car would only start after I stepped out and pushed it back and forth while in parking. It is a parking/neutral switch. I'll try to get you the part number. I think there are two switches. One is next to the ignition keylock and the other is in the transmission. You could also check the shift lever cables, one goes to the transmission and the other goes to the switch on the ignition keylock. The switch costed me like $110, but that's in PR. I bet it's cheaper in the US.
