Should I buy Courtesy Nissan's aftermarket B-pipe?

I'm currently doing an internship in Dallas, TX for the summer. I'm from New Orleans. Anyway, they sell a Courtesy Nissan made stainless steel, after-market B-pipe for $189.99. Plus exhaust and intake for other prices. I already got the Gredy exhaust (not cat-back) the week before I left for Dallas.

I spoke to the parts guy at Coutesy Nissan, and he told me that they not only sell their own custom-made aftermarket pipe but others as well like Borla. The price range is $200 to $250. The installation is $120 and takes about a hour and a half. The parts-guy said they oly have one left and they are made in Asia. Do you guys think this is a good deal? I got my exhaust from a motorsportd shop named Sonic Boom. They only sell B-pipes with the cat-back systems.

Courtesy Nissan offers some tight after market mods. When I stopped by, I saw chrome K&N filters and a nice cat-back system for $600, price of cat-back only. They had some more, but those stood out to me.

So what do you guys think?

Get the b-pipe to finish your exhaust mods, not to start them.

If it's a once-in-a-lifetime deal ... then get it. But if not, get an intake and y-pipe first before getting the b-pipe.

I remember tht you posted the disadvatages and advantages of getting a Y-pipe. I know it increases performance. What about an increase in MPG? The noise factor? Emissions? I originally wanted to get the cat-back system but didn't have the money for the unit and installation; so I got the Greddy exhaust.

By the way. The noise level is not really loud. I was told that the Greddy exhaust is a pretty quiet exhuast. Of course it gets loud when you accelerate though, but that't the point.

Prices seem high. $120 to install a B-pipe is insane. I paid $65 to get my Y-pipe installed and that's much harder.

Get a Y-pipe first, then get a catback. Also, a Y-pipe will make any exhaust louder. That's why lots of people here keep the stock muffler.

LOL. The Greddy cat-back system was for a Maxima. It was either them or Illusions.

Illusions on the West Bank charges too much plus they have to order everything.

Another good reason to be nice to people.

Now get the Y-pipe and B-pipe, and you have help with the install. Plus you'll get to see one of the fastest maximas around.

One question. How good are the Cattman Y-pipe's?
Are they low on emissions? The funny thing about it is that I'm doing an internship with the EPA in Dallas at Fountain Place. LOL. The only complaint I may have about the Y-pipe is the sound. The Greddy is quiet but the drone you hear while accelerating slowly is quite loud. Does a Y-pipe make this sound louder by a lot?

With a Y pipe it will be much louder. Y pipe only effects cold start emissions, the precats are eliminated with a Y pipe install (any make). The precats are used to burn up the extra emissions expelled when the motor is cold. Once the main cat is at operating temperature the pre cats are not really needed.

Do a search for emissions and Y-pipe.
I posted my emissions numbers before I had my Y-pipe and the year after, once I did get my Y-pipe. I passed with ease. Others have had the same results.

I'm not sure if they even warmed my car up, since I left it overnight for them. I don't think emissions would be a problem. I would just stay away from Nissan dealerships for inspection, cause they may complain that your Y-pipe is aftermarket.
