if any of u guys were to say spray paint your stock rims to hold u over till u got some nice stuff, how would u go about spay painting rims? caliperpaint??
and how would u remove crousion? dremel?

 

and that will require making them 100% clean and having them painted or powder-coated, and they may still peel, caliper paint is designed to resist heat, it wouldnt really have any beifit on your wheels, go to your local hardware store and look for out door furniture paint or something like it, thats about as close to what you want, that I think youll find. but I doubt it will stick for long

or if you have money have them powder coated but you may as well just get some new wheels then

I've seen special spray paint made for rims at pep-boys

 

I used krylon clear coat on mine once-lasted about a year. The second time, I used a special wheel spray from the auto parts store-lasted about a month.

By experience what's the most important thing in your project of painting your mags is to used a good primer,because the primer job is to hold the paint and also what's important the preparation of the surface of the mags :You need to sand all the previous clear coat and /or you used paint stripper and clean with a paint cleaner before you prime them so this way you are ready to paint and that should stick.

I painted my rims white with Dupli-Color Wheel paint and they came out great -- its been a year and they still look new (except for some caked-on brake dust that resulted from my lazy car-cleaning schedule). I sanded off all the clearcoat, then applied 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint. It looks really nice. Email me if you want a pic or two of them on my car.
